Help! I want to order more bobbins, what size do I need?

August 21, 2019

With the introduction of the golden whorl and the worker bee in 2018 the company introduced the larger 3/8” flyer rods on most of our wheels. The reason was for extra support for the incredibly fast spinning speeds with the golden whorl.

As a result our older pre golden whorl wheels have a smaller flyer rod and bobbin hole and the new golden whorl models have a larger 3/8” flyer rod and bobbin hole

When ordering more bobbins you will need to keep this in mind to assure you are ordering the correct size.

The newer pollywog golden whorl models still has a 1/4” flyer rod.

To determine which size you need you can either measure the flyer rod or the bobbin hole with a tape measure, or check to see if the plastic bushing is black( larger) or white ( smaller).

It’s important to note that with our new 16 oz flyers like on the bullfrog that both the 8 oz or 16 oz bobbin can fit on the same flyer heads as long as the bobbins are 3/8”.

Our bobbins are made from Baltic birch and are shatterproof. Each one is glued by hand and tested for durability and function by our quality control department.

Any bobbins that break within 1 year of purchase we will replace for free. If your bobbin breaks, email a picture to info@spinolution.com with your shipping address and proof of purchase to receive a free replacement.
