SpinOlution Exclusive Features
Minimal Assembly Required
SpinOlution wheels require minimal assembly, allowing you to start spinning within minutes. You may need a Phillips head screwdriver. Remove all contents from the box, checking the packaging for small parts. Drive bands and screws are in a red bag. If anything is broken, contact your dealer immediately. Keep the box and packing materials for returns. Your 30-day money-back guarantee starts the day you receive your brand new wheel directly from SpinOlution - contact your dealer for returns within 30 days.
Open / By-passable Hook Orifice
SpinOlution wheels feature a standard open, by-passable hook orifice, allowing spinners to easily work with fibers from fine cobweb to bulky textures. For auto-wrapping, a tube orifice (sold separately) is recommended.
Magnetic Bobbins & Orifice Bar
You don’t need to disassemble your flyer or remove the drive band to change bobbins on a SpinOlution wheel. Simply take off the magnetic orifice bar, swap the bobbin, and replace the bar. Slide the bobbin onto the flyer rod until you hear a “click” from the magnet. If you don’t hear it, adjust the bobbin slightly until it clicks. The connection may be tight at first but will loosen over time. Gently pull on the bobbin to ensure the magnet is engaged. Next, attach the orifice bar to the flyer rod, ensuring it also clicks. If it doesn’t, adjust the flyer arms to align with the bar. This is normal. The magnets on the flyer rod are secured with super glue, but regular use can loosen them over time. If your bobbin rattles or doesn’t have uptake, check if a magnet is stuck inside it—remove and re-glue it to the flyer rod. Lost magnets can be replaced by contacting hello@spinolution.com.
Comprehensive Ratios
Each spinner has a preferred ratio based on their treadling speed and desired yarn weight. Slow treadlers may need higher ratios for fine yarn, while fast treadlers can use lower ratios. Short staple fibers like cotton require high ratios for sufficient twist, while spinning locks or tail spinning benefits from lower ratios to avoid over-twisting.
Easy Adjust Tension Uptake
Quarter-turn adjustments let you easily fine-tune tension for any yarn weight. Turn the knob clockwise to increase tension, or counterclockwise to reduce it. SpinOlution wheels support both high and low tension preferences. If uptake is still too strong at low tension, cross-lace the yarn on the pegs to slow it down further.
Whisper Quiet Operation
Our multi-bearing system makes SpinOlution wheels virtually silent. If you hear squealing, check tension block maintenance; for knocking, see treadle maintenance—details are on our website, YouTube channel, or contact hello@spinolution.com.
Ergonomic Treadle
SpinOlution wheels are designed for low-effort treadling, making them ideal for spinners with joint pain. The Queen Bee, King Bee, and Worker Bee feature especially shallow treadle motion, while the Firefly is treadle-free—perfect for those who can't treadle at all.
Small Footprint
Our compact wheels fit small spaces, and floor grips keep them stable. If using on a rug, ensure the drive wheel doesn’t touch the fibers, as this can hinder treadling.
Portability
With SpinOlution, portability comes standard. Carry the Pollywog by the lazy kate, and the Hopper, Echo, Firefly, and Bees by their handles. The Monarch can be rolled using optional straps and wheels. Bees fold to fit in luggage and were originally sized for airline carry-ons, but airline limits vary—check current guidelines before flying.
Warp Resistant Baltic Birch
SpinOlution wheels are crafted from warp-resistant, sustainably sourced Baltic birch - stronger and more durable than hardwood, built to last for generations in any climate. We've shipped worldwide for over a decade with zero warping issues.
If your drive wheel wobbles, it likely needs balancing. In dry climates, bushings may loosen slightly; just add a drop of superglue and reseat them. Gluing bushings, magnets, or tightening screws is a normal part of maintenance.
